BURNET ADULT LEAGUE

BYSBA would like to introduce and welcome everyone to the Burnet Adult Sports League! The newest adult league to the Hill Country & Highland Lakes area! Our slow pitch co-ed softball league and tournaments can give you and your friends a chance to shine on the diamond and have some FUN! This is an excellent opportunity to stay active, so grab a glove and get ready to swing the bat. All skill levels are welcome; we offer full team & individual registrations. See you on the field soon!

RULES:
  • Ages 16+ and up
  • Minimum on a team is 10
  • Games are 50 minutes or 7 innings whichever comes first.
  • Home team determined by a coin toss

GAME RULES:
  • Balls used will be 12 inch for guys and 11 inch for women. Balls must have ASA or USA stamp and be .52 core and 300 compression. Team supplies their own balls.
  • ASA, USA, or USSSA bats can be used. No fast pitch bats are allowed.
  • Pitch must be tossed underhand and must reach a height of at least above the knees.
  • Strike zone will depend on where the balls land. Umpires will know what to call a strike based on where the ball lands.
  • No metal cleats allowed. Regular tennis shoes, turf shoes, rubber baseball cleats or football cleats can be worn.
  • Players are allowed to be outside of the dugout, BUT if a ball is hit in the air, the fielder must have space to play the ball. If there is any kind of obstruction on the play, the batter will be called out.
  • The count will start 1-1 with the batter having one courtesy foul ball.
  • No shaved bats allowed. We're trying to have fun and a shaved bat can be very dangerous. If a shaved bat is used, the player will be ejected from the game.
  • Infield fly rule: if there are runners on 1st & 2nd base, or if the bases are loaded, with less than 2 outs, the infield fly rule will be in effect. For an infield fly to be called, the infielder must have the chance to make the routine play. If a routine play cannot be made, infield fly will not be called.
  • Teams of 10 can only be 5/5 not 6/4
  • A team can start the game with 9 players, when the 10th player arrives, they must be put at the bottom of the lineup. The 10th player will have until the end of the 2nd inning to show up. After that, the game can still continue but the 10th spot in the lineup will be considered an out.
  • Alcohol will be allowed for 21+, except when on the field. PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY!
  • If a team has a problem with a call, time must be called and a respectful conversation with the umpire will happen. We will do our best to have 2 umpires on the field and we are going to make mistakes. The umpire will give their reason for the call and if needed, we will talk with the other umpire to make sure the call is agreed upon by both umpires.
  • Fights will NOT be tolerated. If a fight happens, the people involved will be ejected from the game and from the fields.
  • PLEASE HAVE FUN and no matter how competitive things might get, understand that your life will be no different after the game. Don't be the person to ruin everyone's time. Let's set an example for our youth and have a BLAST!
